Portrait of Arvind, Dan Smith, 2016.
Arvind is a proud husband who recognizes the effort his wife contributes to being a wonderful mother and is also a proud father of two children, a daughter and a son. Deconstructing gender roles, he believes he can constantly be helpful in many ways, from contributing to his family’s financial security to mopping the floor at home, to running errands for his children on Sundays. Although he is an operator at MSA Ethos, he doesn’t believe that he has a “position” at MSA Ethos and performs all necessary tasks. He attributes his work and life ethics to being raised by his grandmother after he lost his parents at a young age, but also recognizes that his colleagues’ wonderful personalities at MSA Ethos make it possible for him to be fluid in the work place.
