I am the kind of person who expects to be disappointed, so this was a pleasant surprise. The tote arrived well packed and looked even nicer in person than in the photos. The leather is thick, smooth and firm, and the handles are strong enough for a heavy load. I use it for work and the occasional hardware store run, and neither has bothered it. It is just a really solid, handsome bag, and I have no complaints at all. My daughter has already asked if she can borrow it for college, so I may have to buy a second one.
During my sister's wedding week I used this tote to carry everything, from jewelry boxes to snacks to spare dupattas. It was roomy enough for all of it and still looked elegant in the family photos. The handles never felt painful even when it was loaded to the top. I loved that I could pull things out quickly in the middle of chaos. Now it is my everyday work bag, and it reminds me of those happy days every time I pick it up. The craftsmanship is excellent, and I would buy it again in a heartbeat. It has been through three family events since and still looks fresh.
The size and build of this tote are excellent, and I have used it for work and for weekend trips with equal success. My single complaint is that there is no outside pocket for my keys and cards, so they slide around at the bottom of the interior. I toss in a small pouch to deal with that and it works fine. The canvas is sturdy and the stitching has stayed even through months of use. It is a bag I trust, and I would buy it again. The only reason I did not give it five stars is that missing outside pocket, which would have made it perfect.
