VIJAY PARMAR

Portrait of Vijay, Dan Smith, 2016.

Vijay lives about eleven kilometers away from MSA Ethos and commutes to work on the factory bus every morning. He lives with eight family members in his home. Vijay has always worked in the garment industry and was previously a tailor at another factory, where he was laid off due to a lack of work. Vijay was looking for opportunities that had prospects of job security in order to pay his household bills and MSA Ethos was a good fit as it was able to provide him a living wage. To supplement his salary, he continues tailoring work at home after work hours on a daily basis. He hopes to save enough to put his sons and daughters through school so they can succeed on their own merit.
